    Accommodation/Finishes

The Mk III Wheelyboat is a versatile open dayboat specially designed to provide disabled people with hassle free and independent access to waterborne activities.  Mk IIIs have been supplied to inland and inshore waters all over the UK and are used for pleasure boating, nature watching and fishing.  Marine grade aluminium  means a very strong and virtually maintenance free construction.  A watertight bow door lowers to form a ramp for access on and off.  The hull is protected by sacrificial runners when grounded for boarding.   Construction:  LOA 5.36m, Beam 2.06m RCD cat C Marine grade aluminium Inverted V-shaped hull Max 15hp Max 8 adults Level floor wheelchair accessible throughout Space for 6 wheelchairs in comfort  Standard fittings:      The Mk III performs best as a displacement craft with outboards up to 15hp.  There is plenty of space for a wheelchair user to operate a tiller outboard while remote operation from the optional drive-from-wheelchair console enables people with the severest disabilities to take the helm.        Mk IIIs are built for the Trust in the UK

    Wheelyboat Mk 111

The largest aluminium Wheelyboat in the range, the Mk III was designed and developed in 2006. It is larger and has more passenger capacity than its two predecessors and is perfectly suited for pleasure boating, nature watching, etc as well as angling. It can also be used as a trip boat or a small ferry. The majority of Mk IIIs supplied are performing these wider functions and consequently the Trust is benefiting a broader spectrum of disabled people across a greater range of waters. • RCD category C waters (all inland waters, sheltered inshore waters) • 8 adults max • 25hp max • 5.3m long • 2.1m wide Construction Mk IIIs are hand built to order from marine grade aluminium allowing various modifications to be made to suit particular requirements, e.g. higher handrails, extended lockers. The deck is non-slip aluminium treadplate and in normal conditions wheelchair brakes are sufficient to hold wheelchairs in place. Propulsion Mk III can be powered by remote or tiller steered outboards, petrol or electric. For petrol, a DF15 Suzuki with push button start is supplied as standard. For electric, the Torqeedo Cruise 2 is recommended. Batteries and charger for an electric outboard can be permanently installed on board in extended stern lockers.
